Today is the 600th update of The Dreamer!
Alan isn’t wrong: what remained of Knowlton’s Rangers was taken prisoner at Fort Washington, and they would spend years aboard the heinous HMS Jersey prison ship, afloat in New York harbor.
The detail that Bea asked Alan to runaway with her was alluded to in Alan’s fever-dream.
Throughout The Consequence of Nathan Hale Alan assumes that Bea is angry with him. He won’t tell her why. This is why: he turned her down.
I created a panel dump from the comic on Tumblr to chronicle the references to this fight.
(The sequence with Alan’s favorite brother, Ebenezer, was drawn by Michael Mayne and appeared in the Issue #14 director’s cut. If you haven’t read it, sign up in the sidebar of the home page to get it for free!)
