This week a friend who works in downtown Chicago texted me as she walked past the Nathan Hale statue at the Tribune Tower. She does this occasionally, just so I know he’s still there, and still doing well. In the winter, once, someone put a scarf around him when he was six inches deep in snow. Once when I was in town, we left my car at a red light at 1AM and ran over—in my I <3 Nathan Hale tee—to snap a pic with him.
But this time Michelle noticed something new… a sign, at Nathan’s feet, that read:
“Hear Nathan Here”? “The Statue Will Call You Back?”
The result?
Yes, that reads: “Incoming Call, Nathan Hale”
