It’s getting closer to San Diego Comic Con (July 9-12) and plans are starting to be made. I’ve never been to SDCC, even though it’s the Comic Con of all comic cons.
I’ll be on panels every day of the show, but the one I’m most excited about is my Spotlight Panel:

Lora Innes and The Making Of “The Dreamer”—Being an independent creator is often thought of as a solitary effort. Not so for IDW’s Lora Innes. Over the past eight years “The Dreamer” has a gathered a passionate, creative fan community and opened doors to a wide range of professional experiences that extend far beyond comics. Lora Innes (The Dreamer) will be interviewed by her co-host on the Paper Wings Show, Chris Oatley (The Oatley Academy). Room 4, Saturday 3-4
That’s right: My spotlight panel is going to be about YOU.
I’ve always said that The Dreamer is best when read online, because of the community experience. Your silliness, intelligence, wit and support has kept The Dreamer going for years. It’s true: these days I make the comic for you.
So I need your help!
I’m collecting:
- stories
- photos
- fan art
- memories
- inside jokes
- and whatever else you want to share
I’ve heard your stories and know that The Dreamer has sparked a love of history that turned into a history major in college and career path for some of you. I know that friendships have formed here. Roommates, even!
And I know that when The Dreamer was on hiatus, some of you missed each other more than you missed the comic.
So I want to share the specialness that is The Dreamer community, and what it’s meant to you.
